Frequently Asked Questions
-
What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, if you haven’t already filled out your intake & consent forms you will be asked to do so. Your therapist will then review your concerns, goals, and any medical conditions before beginning the treatment. The session will be tailored to your needs, whether it’s relaxation, pain relief, or injury recovery.
-
What should I wear to my massage appointment?
You should wear comfortable, loose clothing. Depending on the type of massage, you may be asked to undress to your comfort level. You will always be properly and securely draped with a sheet, with only the area being worked on exposed.
-
Can I get a massage if I am sick?
If you're feeling sick, it's best to reschedule your massage. Receiving a massage while ill can worsen symptoms, delay recovery, and put your therapist and other clients at risk. Please wait until you're fully recovered before booking your appointment.
-
What if I have an open wound or skin condition?
Please inform your therapist of any open wound, rashes, or skin conditions before your session. Your therapist may need to avoid affected areas or highly recommend rescheduling.

What is your cancellation and no-show policy?
We understand that unexpected situations arise, and schedules may change. However, we kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
When you book an appointment, that time is reserved exclusively for you. Last-minute cancellations or no-shows not only impact your treatment plan but also prevent another client from receiving care during that time. To respect the time of both the practitioner and other clients:
• First-time cancellations or no shows will be waived as a courtesy
• Moving forward, a 50% fee of the appointment cost will be charged for late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) or no shows
• Please note that repeated no-shows may result in the loss of booking privileges
This policy ensures that we can continue to provide high-quality care while valuing the time and commitment of both our therapists and clients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
-
How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
You can cancel or reschedule by calling, emailing, or using our online booking system (if more than 24 hours). If you need to cancel last-minute due to an emergency, please contact us as soon as possible.
-
What happens if I arrive late?
If you arrive late, your session will still end at the originally scheduled time to accommodate other clients. The full session fee will still apply. We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early to ensure you receive the full duration of your treatment.
-
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Same-day appointments may be available, but we highly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time.
-
Do you offer direct billing for insurance?
Yes! We offer direct billing for most insurance providers as a free service to make healthcare more accessible. However, please note that claims may sometimes be rejected or only partially covered–we have no way of determining this in advance. If this happens, the client will be responsible for paying the full amount upfront. We will provide a receipt that you can use to submit a claim to your insurance.
-
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Our clinic does not require a doctor’s referral for massage therapy. However, some insurance companies may require a doctor’s prescription for reimbursement. It is the client’s responsibility to check with their insurance provider before their appointment to ensure their claim will be covered. If a prescription is required but not provided, the claim may not go through for direct billing, and the client will need to pay upfront.
-
Are your services covered by extended health benefits?
Most extended health benefit plans cover massage therapy when performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). We recommend checking your coverage before booking.
-
What payment methods do you accept?
We are a cashless studio. We accept debit, credit, and direct billing where applicable.
-
Can I get a massage while pregnant?
Yes! Prenatal massage is safe and beneficial during pregnancy. However:
• During the first trimester, direct abdominal massage is avoided
• Clients will be positioned comfortably on their side with bolsters for support
• If you are experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, please consult your doctor before booking
-
How soon can I get a massage after giving birth?
Postnatal massage is recommended after delivery, but if you had a C-section, you should wait at least 6 weeks or get clearance from your medical doctor before receiving treatment.
-
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! We offer gift certificates that can be purchased for any amount. Please note that gift certificates hold cash value only. This means the recipient can use the balance toward any service but will be responsible for any price difference if rates change. Gift certificates do not expire and can be redeemed at any time.
